Steven Richman practices in the areas of domestic and international commercial law, including mediation, litigation and arbitration, and appellate work, including distributorships, intellectual property, agency, art and photography law, professional responsibility, and contracts.

Steven serves as co-chair of the International Bar Association’s Presidential Task Force on Artificial Intelligence. He also chairs a working group on artificial intelligence on the Lawyers Advisory Committee of the District Court for the District of New Jersey. He is the author of “AI, Robots And Ethical Considerations For Lawyers,” (UIA Newsletter 2019) and participant in programs on artificial intelligence globally sponsored by the New York State Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and International Association of Lawyers (UIA). He has addressed the challenges to the legal profession, including issues facing in-house counsel.

Steven has a practice in commercial dispute resolution that includes international and domestic clients, covering broad subject matters areas including contract, copyright, trademark, product liability, creditors’ rights, and art law, among others. He holds senior officer positions in several international professional organizations. Within the American Bar Association, Steven is a former chair of the ABA’s International Law Section, serves as one of its delegates to the ABA House of Delegates, and is an alternate ABA representative to the United Nations. Within the International Bar Association, he is a vice-chair of the Bar Issues Commission Policy Committee, and chairs the IBA Credentials Committee. He also serves on the executive committee of the International Association of Lawyers (UIA) as one of the deputy editors to the UIA’s renowned magazine, Juriste International.

Steven is also member of the editorial board of The New Jersey Law Journal and services on the Lawyers Advisory Council for the District of New Jersey.

Steven is a published author including the ABA Photography Law Handbook (going into its second edition) in addition to numerous articles. He is a frequent CLE lecturer both in this country and around the world.

Admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and California. He is a 1980 graduate of New York University Law School, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and a graduate of Drew University.
