Member
Lisa S. Sauer is a Member in Clark Hill’s Real Estate Practice Group in the firm’s Chicago office. She is adjunct to the Banking & Finance Practice Group and Corporate Group.
Lisa concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate, banking and finance and corporate law. Her transactional practice includes representing local and regional lenders in complex financing transactions, including participations, syndications, nursing homes and health care facilities, small business loans (504 and 7(a)), asset based loans and commercial and construction mortgages. She has also counseled financial institutions in forbearance agreements and deed in lieu transactions. Lisa’s practice also includes residential and commercial real estate transactions, like-kind exchanges, business sales and acquisitions, advising for-profit corporations, not-for-profit institutions, partnerships and limited liability companies on tax structuring and business planning.
Lisa graduated from Carroll College in 1993 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration. She earned her law degree from John Marshall Law School in 1997. She then obtained an advanced law degree, an LL.M. in Taxation, from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1998.
Lisa is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association where she served as a Past YLS Tax Co-Chair and Past Federal Tax–Pass-through Entities Chair. She is also a member of The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
She co-authored “Single-Member LLCs With More Than One Member, 30 JRET 170 (3rd Quarter 2003)” in 2003.
Lisa serves as an adjunct faculty supervisor for The Business Enterprise Law Clinic at The John Marshall Law School.
