Amelia (Amy) S. Newton counsels clients on employment litigation initiated by labor unions and their pension funds, and advises clients on strategies for addressing violations of labor laws by business competitors.

With more than 30 years of litigation experience, Amy focuses her practice on labor employment litigation. She has counseled clients on employment litigation initiated by labor unions and their pension funds, advised clients on strategies for addressing violations of labor laws by business competitors to take a competitive advantage, and has sought indemnification for an employee’s violation of a confidentiality agreement disclosing alleged trade secrets. She has experience litigating cases involving Title VII, Age Discrimination, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act. She handles claims before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights and appeals in the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

Amy also has experience in non-employment related commercial litigation matters involving contract disputes, contested foreclosures and post-decree complex commercial asset disputes.
