Clark Hill’s Retail, Food & Beverage And Hospitality Groups Announce New Leaders

February 9, 2026

International law firm Clark Hill has appointed new leadership across its Hospitality, Food & Beverage, and Retail practices, reinforcing the firm’s industry-focused approach and continued investment in key growth sectors.

Heading the Hospitality group is Michael J. Laszlo, a Member in Clark Hill’s Boulder and San Francisco offices. The Hospitality group provides comprehensive support across hotel transactions, franchising and licensing, management agreements, corporate governance, labor and employment matters, intellectual property protection, cybersecurity and data privacy, ESG and sustainability initiatives, real estate financing, and complex commercial litigation.

Clark Hill’s Food & Beverage group is now led by Jason R. Canvasser, Member in the firm’s Detroit office. The multi-disciplinary team represents food and beverage processors, manufacturers, industry groups, distributors, retailers, and other clients in the industry with corporate structuring, transactions, employment issues, litigation, and other matters.

In addition to their new roles, Canvasser and Laszlo lead the firm’s Alcohol Law group, which focuses on alcohol licensing, regulation and compliance matters.

The Retail group will be led by Tanya Nebo, Senior Counsel in the firm’s Collin County office. The team advises national retailers, specialty stores and e-commerce businesses on matters ranging from business operations, environmental concerns, franchising opportunities, labor and employment, international trade compliance, real estate transactions, and commercial litigation.

While each industry group has its own defined leadership and areas of focus, the teams frequently collaborate given the interconnected nature of their clients’ needs and the shared regulatory, operational, and transactional issues across these sectors. The overarching initiative is led by Maria Fracassa Dwyer and Ashley Kisner. “With dedicated leaders overseeing each area, we can deepen subject-matter knowledge, enhance client service, and more effectively reach clients within each sector,” Explains Dwyer. Kisner adds, “We are excited with the strength of our team leaders and look forward to the focus and momentum they will bring.”
