Clark Hill Expands in Atlanta With the Election Law Group

October 9, 2024

Clark Hill announced today that it has added a trio of political law specialists to its Atlanta office.

Election law attorneys Bryan Tyson and Bryan Jacoutot join as Members, and Diane Festin LaRoss joins as senior counsel. They represent governments in litigation involving election administration and redistricting, represent candidates and corporations in campaign finance issues, and work on complex appeals.

“We’re excited to join Clark Hill and work with an impressive group of attorneys in the election field,” Tyson said. “For the next step in developing our nationwide practice, it was crucial to have a firm already familiar with and engaged in this work.”

Tyson also represents a variety of clients engaging in the government arena, assisted multiple states in redistricting during the 2021 cycle, and has extensive experience working with state governments. Jacoutot focuses the majority of his practice on litigating election law matters, including redistricting and voting rights cases, along with a growing Bitcoin practice.

LaRoss, an experienced litigator, has previously focused on government contracts law and was an Assistant Attorney General in Georgia.

Over the past four years, the trio has spent months in federal trials involving election administration, successfully representing state entities, and are currently representing clients in appeals pending at the U.S. Supreme Court, Eleventh Circuit, D.C. Circuit, and Supreme Court of Georgia.

“We focus on the federal courts but we do a lot on the state level as well,” Jacoutot said. “We’re able to handle everything from trial and oral argument in the county courthouse to appeals at the United States Supreme Court. Our clients can expect full-service support and seasoned representation every step of the way when needed. And now with the resources of an international law firm like Clark Hill, we can deliver it at scale.”

The additions of Tyson, Jacoutot, and LaRoss formally establish an election law group within Clark Hill, which has previously been involved with election matters in Michigan and at the federal level.

“We’re very excited to be adding a very talented group of election lawyers to our growing Atlanta office,” said Business Unit Director Rod Williamson “With their established relationships around the country, they greatly enhance our current abilities and will be a tremendous asset firmwide.”

Clark Hill opened its Atlanta office on July 29 with eight lateral hires. With the addition of the Election Law Group, the office has doubled its attorney count.

“There has been great enthusiasm from within the firm and recruits in our Atlanta space,” said Atlanta Member-in-Charge Christina Moore. “We hope to continue to build on our early momentum and are happy to add three tremendously talented attorneys to our team.”
