Policy Analyst

Mackie Tate (MT) Tygart is a policy analyst with Clark Hill Public Strategies and works with federal policymakers and stakeholders to help clients advance strategic policy objectives, with a particular focus on defense, critical minerals, and industrial base resilience.

MT received her BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she double majored in Art History and Peace, War, and Defense with a concentration in International Security and Intelligence. She is passionate about U.S. foreign and defense policy, with experience supporting policy analysis, government relations, and legal advocacy across the executive and legislative branches.

She works closely with senior leadership to deliver clear, actionable insights on a wide range of national security, critical minerals, and industrial base policy issues. With a strong foundation in policy research, analysis and communications, MT is adept at quickly assessing new developments and synthesizing key takeaways to inform client strategy and engagement.

MT’s current work spans federal regulatory and legislative activity, particularly in the areas of appropriations, industrial policy, and energy supply chains. She tracks relevant agency and legislative actions and leverages strong public and private sector networks to support clients’ strategic goals.
