Kaitlin regularly litigates on behalf of employers in a wide variety of employment matters including those relating to Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Illinois Human Rights Act. She works cases from initial investigation stage through agency proceedings through summary judgment and trial. She also has extensive experience defending public employers in civil rights litigation under Section 1983.
Outside of litigation, Kaitlin regularly counsels public and private employers on labor and employment issues including grievances, employee discipline, disability, and religious accommodations. For public employers, Kaitlin has vast experience advising on issues related to public employment and the First Amendment.
Prior to coming to Clark Hill, Kaitlin was in-house counsel for the fourth-largest school district in the nation. In that role, she consistently obtained favorable results in litigation including dispositive motions and trial and defended the district in high-profile matters.
