Andrew J. Ruxton


Andrew J. Ruxton is an associate with the Labor & Employment Practice Group in Clark Hill’s Pittsburgh office. Andrew focuses his practice on all aspects of the employment relationship, including employment agreements, noncompetition agreements, traditional labor issues, discrimination, harassment, Fair Labor Standards Act compliance, and drafting and implementing employment policies and handbooks.

Andrew graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Executive Board. While at Pitt Law, Andrew received an Honors designation for his Legal Memorandum and Oral Argument in Employee Benefits and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Transit Law.

Throughout law school, Andrew focused his attention on labor and employment issues, completing the following courses: Employee Benefits, Employment Discrimination, Employment Law, and Labor Law. Andrew acquired practical labor and employment knowledge while at Pitt Law as a law clerk with a Downtown Pittsburgh management-side firm, where he regularly conducted research that was used to counsel the firm’s public-sector clients. Andrew also gained experience while clerking for the in-house legal department of a major international industrial union, where he had the opportunity to contribute to cases being litigated in federal and state courts, and before the National Labor Relations Board.

Prior to attending law school, Andrew graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and minor in Administration of Justice. Andrew was a four-year member of Pitt’s Division I ACHA ice hockey team, during his final season he was named co-captain and awarded Team MVP.
