Alex Perez serves as Member-In-Charge of the Mexico City office, where a great team of lawyers serves clients based in Mexico, in the United States, and many other countries. Alex represents Latin American businesses and high-net-worth families with respect to their investments and expansion of operations into the United States.

As a fully bilingual and bicultural attorney, Alex counsels clients through cross-border transactions by guiding them through unfamiliar cultural and legal systems. Alex structures foreign investment funds, assisting Mexican investors with every stage of their investment in the United States. This includes tax efficient structuring of Mexico-based funds, formation of investment vehicles, and negotiation and documentation of a fund’s investment in U.S. projects. Alex structures the expansion of Mexican business operations into the United States, and serves as a U.S. general counsel for Mexican privately held and publicly traded corporations.

Alex also represents clients against the Internal Revenue Service through tax examinations, IRS Appeals, and the U.S. Tax Court in matters involving transfer pricing, offshore voluntary disclosure, delinquent tax returns, and other complex international and domestic tax issues. He regularly handles inbound and outbound international tax issues, partnership and S-corporation tax matters, and taxable and tax-free corporate mergers and acquisitions.
