August 26, 2026

Clark Hill is pleased to announce Daniel Prieve has joined the firm’s Denver office as Senior Counsel in its Banking & Financial Services practice. A former Counsel with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Prieve brings more than a decade of experience advising on complex banking, regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters.

Prieve joins Clark Hill following a distinguished tenure with the OCC, where he counseled bank examiners and agency leadership on a wide range of matters affecting financial institutions, including merger and charter applications, enforcement actions, Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering compliance, regulatory developments, and supervisory issues. He also played a leading role in significant litigation, enforcement proceedings, policy initiatives, and the review of complex banking transactions.

“Daniel’s regulatory insight and extensive experience inside the OCC provide a unique perspective that is invaluable to our clients,” said Joann Needleman, Leader of Clark Hill’s Financial Services Regulatory & Compliance practice. “From regulatory approvals and supervisory matters to enforcement and compliance concerns, he’s at the forefront of the issues our financial clients face today.”

His addition further strengthens Clark Hill’s nationally recognized Banking & Financial Services practice, which advises banks, fintech companies, trust companies, financial institutions, and other industry participants across the country on regulatory, transactional, compliance, and litigation matters.

“Our Banking & Financial Services team continues to experience tremendous momentum, and Daniel’s arrival reflects our ongoing investment in meeting the evolving needs of financial institutions across the country,” said Jeff Conn, Clark Hill Chairman and Leader of its Banking & Financial Services group. “Adding someone with Daniel’s depth of regulatory experience further distinguishes our team and reinforces the comprehensive platform we offer clients.”

Prieve said he was drawn to Clark Hill’s collaborative culture as well as its premier financial services platform.

“Clark Hill has built an exceptional Banking & Financial Services practice with a strong national reputation and a deep bench of talented attorneys,” Prieve said. “I’m excited to join a team that is deeply invested in helping financial institutions address complex challenges and seize new opportunities in a dynamic regulatory environment.”

Prieve earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. He is admitted to practice in Colorado and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia and Ninth Circuits.
