Clark Hill Adds Mexico-Licensed Tax Attorney Mario Barrera to Mexico City Office

September 16, 2024

Clark Hill announced today that Mario Barrera has joined the firm’s Mexico City office as a Member of its Corporate practice group.

Barrera brings more than 25 years of Mexican tax law experience to Clark Hill. He represents clients from a wide variety of industries as lead tax counsel on mergers and acquisitions, financings, and real estate matters, as well as cross-border transactions. He also acts as a tax advisor in administrative procedures, tax audits, and litigation.

“I thought that joining Clark Hill would be a nice fit because most of my clients are multinational companies based throughout the US,” Barrera said. “In helping grow the Mexico City office, my clients and Clark Hill clients will benefit from being able to receive more comprehensive solutions.”

Recently, Barrera has helped companies create preemptive measures in order to support their tax positions when facing audits or assessments. He also just completed a term with the French-Mexican Chamber of Commerce as a board member.

“We’re thrilled to add Mario to our team in Mexico City,” said Alex Perez, Member-in-Charge of Clark Hill’s Mexico City office. “His ability in helping companies in the US and Mexico with corporate and tax matters will be tremendously beneficial.”

The addition of Barrera marks another step in the growth of Clark Hill’s Mexico City office where the firm offers its clients a full range of Mexico-specific legal representation with respect to sophisticated business litigation and transactional matters.
