Clark Hill adds Andrew Schwaab to Intellectual Property Group

Clark Hill announced today that Andrew Schwaab has joined its Intellectual Property team as a Member in the firm’s Scottsdale office.

Schwaab brings more than 25 years of intellectual property experience to Clark Hill. He supports clients through counseling, global patent prosecution, patent litigation, licensing, monetization and due diligence. Much of his work has involved emerging technologies.

“Through every interaction I had with the firm, I knew Clark Hill was the place for me,” Schwaab said. “The intellectual property group has been collecting some impressive wins recently, and there’s tremendous energy in the Phoenix region for growth and development. I’m excited to join a great group and build on their momentum.”

Schwaab is also a clinical associate professor of patent and trademark law at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. He is moving to Arizona from the San Francisco region, where he was president of the Silicon Valley and San Francisco IP Law Associations. He was also recently Chair of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA)/U.S. Bar Liaison Council.

“Andrew is a tremendous addition to our IP group,” said John Ermanni, business unit director of Clark Hill’s intellectual property group. “His overseas experience and work with semiconductors and the latest technological advances over the past two decades will be very beneficial to our team and clients.”

Schwaab earned his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering (electro-physics) from the University of Virginia.
