Former Nevada Supreme Court Justice William Maupin Joins Clark Hill Las Vegas Office
Clark Hill today announced that William Maupin has joined Clark Hill as senior counsel in the firm’s Litigation practice in Las Vegas. Maupin is a former Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court and well known and respected throughout Nevada. He will focus his practice on representing clients in Nevada Supreme Court litigation matters, as well as litigation consulting and alternative dispute resolution.
"Bill is one of the most highly esteemed lawyers in Nevada and we are delighted and honored that he is joining our litigation team,” said Paola Armeni, Member-in-Charge of Clark Hill’s Las Vegas office. “Bill’s extensive experience, distinguished record of accomplishments, and deep legal knowledge from over forty years combined as a jurist and in private practice will be an outstanding asset to our clients throughout Nevada. Our clients’ needs continue to expand throughout the Las Vegas market and Bill’s addition is of strategic importance to the firm.”
Maupin was elected for two terms as a Justice to the Nevada Supreme Court and served from 1997 to 2009. After retiring from the court in 2009, he joined a law firm in private practice. “I have known many of these attorneys for years and I’m delighted to be joining this talented and experienced group,” said Maupin. “Their integrity, professionalism, and reputation in Las Vegas and throughout Nevada, combined with the full-service platform offered by Clark Hill were attractive to me at this stage in my practice. Clark Hill’s culture of collegiality and community connection are an excellent fit for me.”
Maupin also served as a trial judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Carson City from 1993 to 1997, appointed by Governor Robert Miller in 1993. Prior to his judicial career, he was a partner in private practice in Las Vegas for 18 years.
