Senior Counsel

Steven D. Brock is Senior Counsel in the Litigation Group of Clark Hill’s Birmingham office.  Steve focuses his practice on product liability litigation with experience in a multitude of cases including:  third party automobile negligence, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims, trucking, rapid response accident investigation, product liability, warranty & lemon law, premises liability, first party no-fault (PIP), subrogation, insurance coverage and general negligence actions. He handles cases and pre-suit investigations from assignment through trial.  Steve has also handled cases involving personal injury and defense litigation for real estate disputes.

Significant Cases:

  • Obtained a defense verdict in Saginaw County Circuit Court after a two-week trial involving a claim for traumatic brain injury with multiple medical experts and an expert in accident reconstruction.
  • Successfully defended client involving the sale of watercraft which resulted in a favorable defense ruling on the issue of ownership in a published opinion from the Michigan Court of Appeals. Williams v. Kennedy, 316 Mich App 612; 891 NW2d 907 (2016).
  • Assisted with and handled product liability cases on a national basis for the manufacturer of seatbelts, airbags and truck brakes which involved retention and interaction with multiple experts, site and scene physical inspections, developing case strategy, depositions, expert depositions and trial preparation.
  • Traveled extensively in this position throughout the United States which involved either new Federal Court admissions (Northern District of Indiana; District of Colorado) or pro hac vice admissions.‚Äč
