Sean Nolan works extensively in the practice areas of banking, finance, commercial law, M&A, Joint Ventures, inward investment, distribution and agency agreements, licensing, stamp duty, immigration, employment and Intellectual Property. Sean has particular expertise in advising port companies. In his work for the Irish Ports Association he was instrumental in preparing much of the Harbours (Amendment) Act 2009. M&A work includes having acted for one of the US’ largest companies on a range of company acquisitions and disposals. Acquisitions include an Irish bank, media enterprises and various family businesses. He has also acted for various companies in relation to a wide range of relevant banking and finance matters. He was formerly the company secretary to a significant US owned Irish pharmaceutical company with a €1 B annual turnover. Prior to Clark Hill, Sean was a Partner at Kerman & Co Dublin and a Partner at one of Dublin’s leading international law firms where he practiced for 11 years. Sean is qualified in both England and Ireland, having attended University College London, LLB, MA (Business Law) and the College of Law. He practices both Irish and English law in his practice areas. He is co-author of Buying and Selling a Business – Tax and Legal Issues published by the Irish Institute of Taxation. Sean is also a co-author of Business Law in Ireland (2015 Ed) published by Oxford University Press and the Law Society of Ireland. In his work as a member of the Law Society of Ireland’s Business Law Committee, he is cognisant of the technical and practical issues which are at the forefront of Irish banking and business law.
