Patrick Michaelis

Patrick Michaelis represents individuals, families, and financial institutions in probate, trust, and guardianship controversies.

Patrick assists clients in matters involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty, undue influence, lack of capacity, fraud, duress, and negligence. He also litigates actions involving powers of attorneys, petitions for guardianship for adults with disabilities, and pre-death and post-death will and trust contests.

Prior to joining Clark Hill, Patrick worked in a large public accounting firm’s state and local tax department serving clients as a multistate sales and use tax consultant. He also worked as a brief writing law clerk for the Illinois Office of the State’s Attorney Appellate Prosecutor, gaining valuable drafting and legal writing experience.
