Kristie Iatrou has a decade of hands-on experience litigating, advising, interpreting, and communicating complex state and federal tax matters. She began her practice representing the Texas Comptroller in state district court. She then moved to the Texas Comptroller’s office where she defended audits, drafted rules and private letter rulings, approved Independent Audit Reviews, presented tax updates to the executive staff.

Later, Kristie joined the United States Tax Court where she clerked for Judge Elizabeth Copeland. There, she assisted Judge Copeland with issuing orders and opinions in addition to staying up to date on the most recent U.S. Tax Court cases.

With her extensive and diverse tax knowledge, Kristie assists clients with multistate tax issues related to various tax types including sales and use tax, state income taxes, state business taxes, state employment taxes, and other miscellaneous state tax types. As a state tax controversy specialist, she represents taxpayers in a variety of state tax matters: audit defense, compliance, private letter ruling requests, voluntary disclosures, employment tax withholding requirements, etc. She also assists with state tax issues arising out of a merger or acquisition to ensure deals go smoothly.
