Drawing on experience in both litigation and bankruptcy matters, Koy represents clients in state and federal courts and works to develop strategies that align legal considerations with broader business goals. He understands that lawsuits often arise from underlying operational or commercial issues, and he approaches disputes with an emphasis on practical problem-solving, efficiency, and client priorities.
Before joining Clark Hill, Koy served as a law clerk to Chief Bankruptcy Judge Michael M. Parker of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas. In that role, he gained substantial exposure to the Bankruptcy Code, bankruptcy procedure, and issues affecting creditors and trustees. His clerkship experience provides valuable insight into bankruptcy proceedings and restructuring matters, enhancing his ability to guide clients through insolvency-related challenges and disputes.
A Texas native raised in Seguin, Koy brings a grounded and straightforward approach to client service. He works closely with businesses and other clients facing commercial, construction, liability, and bankruptcy-related issues, helping them assess risk, evaluate options, and pursue practical resolutions while remaining focused on their long-term interests.
