Drew has worked on water law matters in Colorado through the Environmental Law Clinic at the University of Denver, where he engaged directly with clients and opposing counsel while practicing within Colorado’s water court system. His experience includes legal research, client counseling support, and analysis of issues affecting water rights and water resource management. He has also conducted extensive research on groundwater regulation, including the role of interstate compacts and potential federal regulatory approaches to water governance. These experiences provide a strong foundation in water law, natural resources law, and environmental policy issues.
His legal experience further includes supporting property, land use, and contract law matters through research and legal memorandum drafting, as well as analyzing federal natural resource statutes and administrative legal issues. During a judicial internship with the 2nd Judicial District Court in Denver, Drew assisted with matters involving civil procedure, administrative law, property law, contract disputes, and tort issues, strengthening his ability to evaluate complex legal questions and develop clear, practical analyses.
Before law school, Drew worked as an environmental scientist on remediation projects throughout Colorado and neighboring states. In that role, he supported environmental investigations, data analysis, regulatory documentation, and project implementation efforts. This experience provides firsthand insight into environmental remediation, regulatory compliance, site assessment, and the operational challenges faced by businesses, landowners, and project stakeholders.
