Brad Williams has spent more than 25 years working for and with elected officials to help accomplish important policy objectives. Leading public policy and lobbying efforts for one of the largest Chambers of Commerce in the country, Brad has utilized his experience and network to advance Michigan’s economic trajectory with federal, state, and local officials. Brad’s background includes work developing Michigan’s most bipartisan business PAC. Brad’s notable successes in economic development, tax policy, transportation, talent development, and municipal governance provides a platform for Clark Hill clients to meet their policy goals.

Brad is a widely respected voice in public policy and political circles. Brad was noted as a “40 Under 40,” and “50 Names to Know in Lobbying,” by Crain’s Detroit Business. He is a go-to source for reporters and business leaders who need to know the inside scoop on Michigan’s political and policy scenes.

Prior to joining Clark Hill, Brad spent 17 years at the Detroit Regional Chamber as Vice President of Government Relations. Brad worked with Chamber leadership and board members to develop one of Michigan’s most respected Government Relations teams. Brad’s notable policy successes on behalf of the Chamber and its members include managing legislation to solve Detroit’s municipal bankruptcy, construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, elimination of the Michigan Business Tax, and creation of game-changing aid to Michigan students pursuing higher education.

As part of the Chamber’s leadership team, he was instrumental in the success of the nationally renowned Mackinac Policy Conference. Brad was tasked with developing and organizing debates among candidates for Governor, U.S. Senate, and Mayor of Detroit that consistently provide attendees and a statewide audience their first substantial overview of candidate’s positions, strengths and weaknesses.

Leading the Chamber’s Political Action Committee, Brad was instrumental in securing significant endorsements and support for Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Senator Gary Peters, and Mayor Mike Duggan.

Brad lives in Greater Lansing with his wife Kristen and daughter Piper. Together they enjoy skiing, time in Northern Michigan and taking care of their energetic dog.
