Angela has significant experience in the healthcare industry. She developed a professional and general liability claims and litigation program, including high-retention self-insurance and a reinsured captive, that served the needs of a $4 billion healthcare system. She was a member of many executive level teams charged with evaluating risk in not only the professional liability arena, but also billing and regulatory compliance. She developed a unique risk financing vehicle in collaboration with a leading commercial carrier to allow physicians to reduce their exposure in a high-risk environment, including novel approaches to claims management.
Angela also has experience in complex litigation, including class action, in a variety of arenas including wage and hour, billing, and privacy (to include initial investigation as well as breach evaluation and response strategies).
Angela is a frequent lecturer on topics including medical professional liability, insurance coverage, healthcare regulatory topics including billing compliance, privacy breach identification and response, and patient safety.
