Alexandra “Sandy” Serdiuk is a paralegal in Clark Hill’s Detroit Office where she provides support to Robert M. Vercruysse and the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. Sandy was a paralegal with Vercruysse Murray, PC for 20 years, Butzel Long for 7 years, and also at Cook Wetzel & Egan in Chicago and Reinhart Boerner in Milwaukee, prior to joining Clark Hill.
Sandy provides litigation support which includes all aspects of discovery including legal research, drafting pleadings, preparing chronologies, subpoenas, deposition summaries, assisting with witness interviews, document productions, trial preparation and assistance at arbitration hearings and trials.
Sandy has been assisting at trials before the United States District Court Eastern and Western Districts, Oakland, Wayne, and Washtenaw County Circuit Courts, and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board, both locally and nationally. Additionally, she has assisted in appeal proceedings and assisted at oral arguments before the United States District Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States District Court.
Other areas in which Sandy provides support include drafting handbooks, and employment applications, drafting minutes at collective bargaining sessions, preparing proposals and finalizing agreements, assisting with Firm Seminars, client training sessions, affirmative action plans and electronic filings.
Sandy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and International Relations in Russian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1987. Later that year she obtained her paralegal certificate from Roosevelt University-Chicago-ABA Program of Paralegal Studies.
Sandy speaks fluent Ukrainian and Russian.
