Labor & Employment Litigator Asra Hashmi Joins Clark Hill's Pittsburgh Office as Member

July 8, 2026

Clark Hill announced today that employment litigator Asra Hashmi has joined its Labor & Employment practice group as a Member in the Pittsburgh office. Hashmi defends employers nationwide in individual, class, and collective actions. Her record includes complete defense wins at jury trial and in arbitration—and she approaches each matter with the business-first instincts she honed during nearly eight years at Verizon.

Hashmi’s practice spans the full range of workplace disputes, including discrimination, wage-and-hour, retaliation, and leave matters under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and related federal and state laws. She complements her employment practice with deep experience in disability access litigation, defending businesses against website, mobile application, and architectural barrier claims under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. She also counsels clients on accessibility compliance, identifying and addressing risks before they become lawsuits.

“The addition of Asra reflects Clark Hill’s continued investment in expanding our labor and employment capabilities in Pittsburgh,” said Jeff Conn, Firm Chairman and Member in Charge of the Pittsburgh office. “Along with her strong litigation experience, Asra brings a collaborative approach and nuanced legal understanding that make her a great fit for both our team and our clients.”

Hashmi’s years on the business side—in human resources, sales operations, and government contracts—taught her to anticipate how employment decisions play out inside an organization, not just in the courtroom, and her tenure at two of the nation’s largest specialty labor and employment firms gave her the defense-side depth to match. She regularly advises and trains employers—from national retailers, healthcare systems, and hospitality operators to construction, mining, transportation, and logistics companies—on workplace policies, compliance, and the day-to-day HR decisions that carry legal risk.

“Having sat on the employer’s side of the table before practicing law, I know clients want counsel who understand the realities of business, not just legal risk,” said Hashmi. “Employers need counsel who can both zealously defend against claims and help prevent them. Clark Hill’s pragmatic, results-oriented attorneys and expansive platform make the firm exactly the right home for that approach, and I’m thrilled to join the team.”

Hashmi is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania. She earned her J.D. from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University and her B.S.B.A. in corporate finance, also from Duquesne.
