Clark Hill Adds Labor and Employment Firm Tenorio Abogados in Mexico City

November 21, 2024

Clark Hill announced today that it has expanded in Mexico City by acquiring labor and employment firm Tenorio Abogados.

Five attorneys from Tenorio Abogados have joined Clark Hill. Jorge Tenorio joins as a Member and Nancy Hernandez is a senior attorney. They are joined by Angel Zarate, Isis Canacasco, and Rodrigo Zuñiga.

“We’re very excited to be joining Clark Hill and play a big role in its growth in Mexico City,” Tenorio said. “I’m very familiar with the firm’s depth and talent in its labor practice and we’re eager to contribute to that group.”

Tenorio’s connection with Clark Hill grew from previous relationships with members of the firm with whom Tenorio has worked in various capacities for more than 20 years.

“We have this link together that goes back for many years,” Tenorio said. “We’ve already worked together on several projects, so there’s great familiarity and respect for one another.”

Tenorio and his team assist with employment matters related to individual and collective litigation. They counsel clients to ensure compliance with all employment regulations, litigate administrative trials, and perform employment risk due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.

Despite coming from a boutique firm, the group’s network includes all of Mexico and extends to the American automotive industry, and Tenorio practiced for many years with a large international law firm.

“We’re thrilled to be adding Jorge and his fantastic group of labor specialists to our team in Mexico City,” Mexico City Member-in-Charge Alex Perez said. “They will significantly enhance our team’s ability to reach clients and build relationships throughout Mexico.”

Critical Risk Mitigation Provisions for Design Contracts — Part 1: Waiver of Consequential Damages

An essential element of architect and engineer contracts with their clients is the treatment of risk sharing between the parties. Design professionals who are typically simply providing services for a fee, and who are not investors who will share in the profits of a successful project, can ill-afford to expose themselves to unlimited liability for negligent errors and omissions in the performance of their services. Architects and engineers would argue that it is fundamentally unfair to expose them to unlimited downside risk when they do not directly participate in the upside profit potential of the projects they design. Owners and developers would counter that this is why design professionals carry professional liability insurance. But even simple design errors can lead to liability that is many times greater than the amount of such insurance.
