DeLauro and as the Director of Labor Policy from 2015 to 2018 for the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension and the House Education and Labor Committees.

“Leticia is one of Washington’s leading and seasoned appropriations experts, who brings particular strengths in community and economic development, health care, infrastructure, education, and workforce. That experience, and her intimate knowledge of Congress, will be an invaluable resource to clients,” said Kevin Kelly, Leader of Clark Hill’s Government & Regulatory Affairs Practice. “We are thrilled to have her join us as the latest addition to Clark Hill’s expanding group of industry leaders in its Government and Regulatory Business Unit, following the addition of Eduardo Angeles as Managing Director and Senior Counsel in Los Angeles, Bobby Babcock as Managing Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs in Dallas, and Anthony Campau as Director of Government Regulation in Washington, D.C. and Detroit.”

“Leticia’s addition to the firm is a sign that Clark Hill is continuing to build our Government and Regulatory Affairs group nationally to help clients accomplish their business and institutional objectives through effective advocacy before Congress and Federal Executive Branch agencies,” said Thomas Ragland, Member in Charge of Clark Hill’s Washington, DC office. “Her significant experience on Capitol Hill in using the appropriations process to shape national policy will enable our firm to navigate the complex Federal environment to achieve successful local, specific outcomes.”

Mederos has more than 20 years of experience working effectively with both the House and Senate, as well as stakeholders in crafting and executing federal government relations strategies to solve complex legislative problems in community and economic development, workforce, early childhood education, and healthcare issues. With a primary focus on the annual appropriations process, she assists clients in securing funding and general policy provisions pertaining to the Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration, Department of Education’s K-12 and higher education programs, and the Department of Health and Human Services early childhood development programs and health care programs.

“I’m excited to become part of the nationally recognized government and regulatory team at Clark Hill led by Kevin Kelly, someone I have long respected for his expertise and creative approach to government,” said Mederos. “I am looking forward to contributing my experience in the legislative process and to working alongside my talented colleagues to get things done on behalf of our clients.”

Among the senior-level Capitol Hill positions which Mederos has held, most recently she served as Chief of Staff to the Chair of the Appropriations Committee, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, and served as the lead strategist behind the Congresswoman’s successful campaign to become Chair of the Appropriations Committee in the 117th Congress. Mederos also served as top advisor overseeing the Congresswoman’s work as Co-chair of the Steering and Policy Committee which included helping the freshman class of 2018 secure their committee assignments.

Mederos served as Director of Labor for Senator Patty Murray at the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, and in the same role at the House Committee on Education and Labor for former Member George Miller. Additionally, when serving with Chair DeLauro, Leticia managed several Appropriations bills, including Agriculture/FDA, Interior, and Defense, and served as the lead staffer at the Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations Subcommittee. She was also senior legislative assistant to Congresswoman Carrie Meek, a former member of the Appropriations Committee.
