Trey’s practice focuses primarily on representing businesses, public entities, and individuals in complex litigation involving commercial disputes, environmental issues, tribal concerns, as well as other civil claims. He helps clients navigate matters that require a practical litigation strategy, careful analysis of overlapping legal frameworks, and a clear understanding of how federal, state, and tribal law intersect. His experience includes drafting complaints, dispositive motions, mediation memoranda, and other litigation filings in matters involving contract disputes, fraud, tort claims, constitutional issues, tribal sovereignty, tribal jurisdiction, due process, government accountability, and more.
Trey has developed a broad litigation background through private practice, judicial clerkships, and public-sector legal experience. As a judicial law clerk in the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court, Trey gained insight into tribal sovereignty, intergovernmental relations, and the jurisdictional questions that often shape disputes involving tribal governments, enterprises, and individuals. He also worked with the U.S. Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division in Washington, D.C., where Trey analyzed matters involving federal interests and environmental and natural resources issues. His additional experience with the City of Phoenix Attorney’s Office strengthened his understanding of civil rights litigation and government liability, while his work as a judicial extern for an Arizona bankruptcy judge informs his approach to commercial disputes and litigation strategy.
Across his practice, Trey works to identify the issues that matter most, develop efficient litigation strategies, and help clients pursue outcomes aligned with their legal and business objectives.
