Her removal defense practice includes written and oral advocacy on motions for custody redetermination, motions to reopen, motions for administrative closure, and motions to terminate proceedings. In bond matters, Monique works with detained clients and their contacts to develop extensive evidentiary records supporting requests for release. She also represents clients in I-130 petition, I-485 adjustment of status, N-400 naturalization, and N-336 naturalization hearing interviews before USCIS.
Before entering private practice, Monique served as an attorney advisor with the U.S. Department of Justice Executive Office for Immigration Review in Atlanta and Richmond. She advised immigration judges on complex legal issues and drafted decisions addressing relief from removal, criminal immigration issues, bond, removability, and motions to reopen. Monique also prepared legal research memoranda, reviewed the legal sufficiency of attorney work product, and helped develop internal reference materials for immigration judges and attorney advisors.
This combination of judicial advisory and client advocacy experience gives Monique insight into the legal analysis, evidentiary record, and procedural requirements that shape immigration decisions. She brings that perspective to each matter, helping clients understand the process, identify relevant evidence, and present clear legal and factual arguments to immigration judges and agency officers.
