Kaveri Subbarao is responsible for increasing revenue generation and profitability firmwide by designing and implementing strategic and innovative approaches to grow the firm and differentiate it from its competitors. She is focused on attaining practice optimization, expanding client relationships, enhancing client value, and finding and developing critical talent. She also is the business unit director for the litigation group, the largest practice at the firm, and IG360, the firm’s discovery and alternative staffing team. In those roles, she leads and champions a diverse, intergenerational team of professionals and staff of 250+ people in 27 offices throughout the United States, Ireland, and Mexico.
Immediately prior to joining Clark Hill, Kaveri served as the CEO of a strategic consulting entity primarily positioned to help upper-middle market companies re-engineer the way they do business and vaunt their capabilities to drive next-level financial success and brand expansion. Kaveri’s hybrid experience in both law and business enabled her to provide her diverse portfolio of clients with critical strategic guidance to overcome plateaus and build sustainable profitability across a broad spectrum of company operations. She implemented new and innovative as well as tried-and-true systems by translating legal concepts into approachable terms and cleverly presenting emerging ideas and best practices in business and finance.
Kaveri is a corporate attorney providing counsel to companies and individuals in all stages of development and in a variety of industries. She works extensively with organizations’ leadership teams in the design and execution of legally sound, progressive business approaches and initiatives that are aligned with corporate objectives. Kaveri’s legal practice centers around serving as general counsel to sports industry individuals and companies, including professional and amateur athletes.
Kaveri started her legal career in private practice at ReedSmith, LLP as a corporate attorney and thereafter served as in-house general counsel for several entities. Her significant transactional experience includes work in securities, advertising and media, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, and international law.
She began her professional career working full-time for the Exxon Mobil Corporation by managing business and marketing activities in North and South America. During her tenure with ExxonMobil, she helped steward premier brands such as Mobil 1, Mobil, Exxon, and Esso, and developed strategic alliances, major sponsorships, and licensing agreements with entities such as NASCAR, Miller Brewing Company, General Motors, and Walmart.
