Karl Howe litigates in respect of a broad range of contentious matters from shareholder and contractual disputes, landlord and tenant disputes, employment disputes, property disputes, and probate disputes to defamation, personal injuries, judicial reviews, and breaches of the Data Protection Acts. Karl also helps clients enforce Court judgments, which may involve registering the particular judgment against assets or petitioning the Court to wind up a company.

Karl has significant experience managing large-scale complex litigation in the Commercial Court. His employment practice includes helping clients with unfair dismissal claims and claims under the Equal Status Acts.

He has a diverse client base which includes domestic and multinational companies, SME’s, high-net-worth individuals and court appointed liquidators.

Karl’s focus is on guiding clients through the litigation process by providing clear, timely, and practical advice. Karl’s experience enables him to anticipate client needs and to formulate effective strategies designed to achieve a successful outcome whether by seeking the appropriate relief from the Court or utilising the alternative dispute mechanisms such as mediation or arbitration.

Karl also takes a keen interest in cybersecurity and data privacy matters and is a part of the Dublin office’s breach incident response team.

  • Successfully defended a multimillion euro claim in relation to a complex commercial dispute, which ran for nearly 30 days in the Commercial Court and involved significant discovery applications and defending an application for injunctive relief.
