Karen D. Hand

Senior Paralegal

Karen D. Hand assists employers with temporary and permanent employment-based immigration matters. She prepares and coordinates filings with the U.S. Department of Labor and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, helping clients navigate government forms, supporting documentation, recruitment requirements, filing deadlines, and agency communications. Her work includes H-2A agricultural worker applications, H-2B temporary nonagricultural worker applications, H-1B labor condition applications, O-1 and L-1 petitions, and I-129 petitions for nonimmigrant workers.

Karen also supports permanent residence matters through the PERM labor certification process, subsequent I-140 immigrant petitions, and adjustment of status filings. She prepares responses to deficiency notices and requests for evidence, as well as initial and final recruitment reports and closing materials. By maintaining regular communication throughout the process, Karen helps clients understand procedural requirements, collect necessary information, and monitor the progress of their immigration matters.

Karen brings an operations-focused perspective developed through years of case management, team leadership, and law firm administration. Her background includes preparing engagement agreements, coordinating client communications, onboarding and offboarding personnel, managing billing and trust-account processes, supporting regulatory and bar compliance, and overseeing day-to-day office operations. This combination of immigration case experience and operational discipline informs an organized, responsive approach to client service.
