Benjamin Dobkin is a litigation attorney with a diverse background in both civil and criminal matters. Ben’s practice includes representing mineral and landowners in oil and gas litigation, broader complex commercial litigation, as well as criminal cases and internal investigations.

Ben started his legal career at an AmLaw 100 firm handling investigations, compliance matters, and regulatory litigation for corporate and institutional clients. Before joining Clark Hill, Ben served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Western District of Pennsylvania and as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Ohio County, West Virginia, where he tried cases and managed complex investigations, giving him extensive courtroom and fact-development experience that continues to inform his practice.

Having worked on both sides of complex disputes, Ben brings a practical, client-focused perspective to litigation. He helps clients anticipate risk, assess leverage, and make informed, strategic decisions. His experience building and defending cases allows him to see how disputes develop and how opposing counsel and regulators think, making him a more effective and strategic advocate.

Ben enlisted in the United States Navy in 2006, served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, and deployed multiple times to the Western Pacific in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. After serving in the Navy, Ben worked as a police officer for several years while he attended undergraduate and law school. That foundation shapes his detail-driven approach and reinforces his ability to remain effective in high-pressure litigation.
