Adam Trott defends automotive manufacturers and distributors in consumer warranty litigation. He manages matters through key phases of litigation, including written discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, case management conferences, and settlement proceedings. Adam works to narrow disputed issues, develop the factual record, and provide clients with the case assessments needed to make informed strategic decisions.

His automotive warranty defense experience includes propounding strategic discovery and preparing comprehensive discovery responses. Adam takes and defends depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, and persons most qualified, developing testimony to support dispositive motions, case evaluations, and trial strategy. He also drafts and argues dispositive motions and motions to compel and appears in court for law and motion hearings. Having managed a high-volume litigation docket, Adam understands the importance of meeting strict deadlines, maintaining detailed assessments, and aligning case strategy with client guidelines.

Adam’s broader litigation background encompasses antitrust, securities, mass tort, business disputes, federal investigations, data privacy, and commercial class actions. He has managed teams of attorneys and paralegals in complex matters, taken approximately 30 depositions across the country, and examined senior corporate executives. His advocacy experience includes appearances before California state court judges, special masters, and arbitrators, as well as drafting briefs, dispositive motions, discovery motions, and research memoranda.

In addition, Adam has advised clients in internal and government investigations involving export controls. He previously served as external general counsel to start-up companies in the wholesale sector, giving him experience with the practical legal needs of growing businesses. This combination of litigation, investigations, and business counseling experience enables Adam to consider both the immediate demands of a dispute and the broader commercial priorities that influence client decision-making.
