San Francisco

Did you know?

In 1985, 505 Montgomery became the earliest historical site ever investigated by archeologists in San Francisco’s Financial District. The find included artifacts dating back to 1841, when there was a trading post operating near the modern corner of Commercial and Montgomery streets. Other objects were discovered from the Gold Rush years and beyond, and reflect the pioneering enterprise of the people who made the block a foundation for commerce in San Francisco.
