Clark Hill expands Denver office, adding six attorneys

September 29, 2025

Clark Hill announced today that six attorneys will be joining the firm’s Corporate and Environment, Energy and National Resources (EENR) groups in the Denver office, effective October 6. The new Clark Hill attorneys include veteran environmental practitioner Scott Clark, the former CEO of Burns, Figa & Will, as well as three additional new Members, one Of Counsel and one associate.

“We’re really pleased to welcome this exceptional group to our team,” said John Hensien, CEO of Clark Hill. “Their combined experience in corporate finance, securities, mergers and acquisitions, environmental compliance and critical water and land use issues notably boosts our capabilities and range in Denver and throughout the western United States. This strategic expansion reflects our commitment to be where our clients need us and to seize opportunities to add quality talent when it presents itself.”

Joining Clark are new Members Victoria (Tory) Bantz, Theresa Mehringer and Andrea Welter, all three of whom will be in the Corporate practice group as well as associate Tyler Alberts, significantly expanding the firm’s corporate finance, securities and business transactions capabilities in Colorado. Kemper Will is joining the EENR practice with Clark.

“We have the good fortune of being able to continue practicing with colleagues we know while starting a new chapter at Clark Hill,” said Clark. “Across the board, we have been impressed not only with the focus on collegiality and client service that Clark Hill has historically offered, but also with the warm welcome and genuine interest in sharing with us the many resources and tools now at our disposal to support our clients and grow our businesses.”

Clark, Bantz, Mehringer and Welter are all long-time Mile High City residents. Clark, Mehringer and Welter earned their law degrees, and Mehringer and Welter earned LLMs in Tax from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Bantz earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder with an emphasis in taxation. Will, a Georgetown Law School graduate, has had a long and distinguished career focusing on environmental cleanup sites around the country. As a group, their philanthropic and community involvement is impressive, with participation in organizations ranging from Habitat for Humanity to the Arapahoe Library District, plus various local mentoring and networking organizations and bar association committees.

“I’m delighted to welcome our new colleagues,” said Claire Wells Hanson, Member-in-Charge of the Denver office. “Their impressive accomplishments and reputation for top-tier client service are a great match for our team. We’re excited to integrate their talents and continue building momentum across Denver and the region.”

Clark Hill now has 17 lawyers in its Denver office and six at the Boulder location.
