Clark Hill Attorney, David G. Ries, to Present at The Three Rivers Information Security Symposium on October 11th

August 23, 2019

PITTSBURGH, PA- Clark Hill attorney, David G. Ries, will be presenting at the Three Rivers Information Security Symposium (TRISS) on October 11th at the Monroeville Convention Center.

The presentation will be, What is“Reasonable Security”? Understanding the Emerging Legal Standards. Ries will discuss how laws, regulations, and contracts often require “reasonable security” to protect confidential data. The standard of “reasonable care” applies in negligence and professional liability litigation involving data breaches, cybersecurity, and technology services. These standards lack certainty and are often difficult to apply in practice. This session will explore developing legal standards in this area and how to best address them in comprehensive cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance programs.
