Clark Hill attorney David Blau lead a roundtable “Your Retailer Tenant Has Filed Bankruptcy – Now What?” at the International Council of Shopping Center's 2020 OH, KY, IN, MI, & PA Retail Development and Law Symposium in Columbus, OH, on February 28, 2020. He addressed the bankruptcy process in general and the issues faced by shopping center landlords in retail bankruptcy cases. The two-day symposium kicked off with a cocktail reception, followed by roundtable sessions and a full day of shopping center related seminars. Blau routinely represents retail landlords in bankruptcies around the country.

Blau is Senior Counsel in Clark Hill’s Real Estate group, based in the firm’s Birmingham office. He focuses on helping commercial landlords in tenant bankruptcies, collecting rent, negotiating lease documents, and purchasing or selling real property. Clark Hill is one of only a few firms in the country to have a national practice representing landlords in Chapter 11 cases. Over the past two decades, Blau has been retained to represent landlords in many of the nations’ largest and most complex bankruptcy matters.
