These conferences target Board Members, Superintendents, Chief Negotiators, Principals and Supervisors. Topics covered by Ms. Ruga include Bargaining for Student Achievement in the Age of Accountability, Administering the Grievance Procedure to Enhance District Goals and Conducting Mistake-Free Investigations.

Barbara A. Ruga has been practicing law for nearly 32 years in the areas of education, labor relations and employment law.  She predominantly represents public school districts in a wide range of employment and school law matters, and frequently lectures to public school districts on employment matters. She was the 2007 recipient of the MNA Harlow Claggett Award for her contributions to collective bargaining in the public school sector in Michigan .  Ruga has also published several books and articles in the field of employment and school law. Ruga earned her J.D. and B.A., cum laude, from the University of Michigan .
