What's the best advice you got along the way?

My mother always said, "if you cannot make a friend, don't make an enemy." I think that is good advice for a litigation lawyer. 

Based on your own experience, what are your top career tips?

Having self-belief is one of the most important things. If you have this, you can appear quietly confident rather than overconfident

You can be a brilliant lawyer but the best have devotion to detail. Set targets and do everything in your power to achieve them. 

As a leader, try to encourage people around you as much as you can and remind them, as Henry Ford said, "Don't find fault, find a remedy."
