Environmental Law Institute Publishes Panel Discussion on Wetland Mitigation with Clark Hill's Karen Bennett
The Environmental Law Institute published "The State of Compensatory Mitigation" in its October issue. The article is based on a panel discussion on changes in the mitigation industry held during the 2017 National Wetlands Awards, ELI on May 18, 2017. Karen Bennett, a Member in the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources group at Clark Hill participated along with Collis Adams of the Wetlands Bureau at the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, Donna Collier of Valencia Wetlands Trust and the National Environmental Banking Association, and Vince Messerly of the Stream and Wetland Foundation. Kathryn Campbell of the Environmental Law Institute served as moderator.
Bennett is a Member in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office in the Environment, Energy & Natural Resources practice group where she represents clients on environmental and administrative law matters, focusing primarily on permitting, compliance, litigation and legislative and regulatory policy under the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). Karen has also guided clients through Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) cost recovery actions and appeals.
