Clark Hill Strasburger Members Hosch, Morris Earn Privacy Professional Certifications
Clark Hill Strasburger Member, Kathryne “Kate” Morris has just earned the ANSI-accredited designation of Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). The CIPM demonstrates an understanding of privacy program governance and the skills necessary to establish, maintain and manage a privacy program across all stages of its operational life cycle. Kate previously earned both her CIPP/US and CIPP/E certifications. Her practice focuses on technology transactions, and in particular, leading due diligence and negotiations associated with software, hardware, cloud and business process outsourcing agreements. Kate is one of few professionals in Texas to have earned all three of the CIPP/US, CIPP/E, and CIPM designations, qualifying her to serve as a Data Protection Officer under the GDPR.
In addition, Clark Hill Strasburger Member, Charles Hosch has earned the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), under the new examination updated to include the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Charles previously earned his CIPP/US certification. He advises clients on privacy, data management, trade secrets and cybersecurity. He also handles all aspects of data and technology, including development, analysis, use, licensing and global outsourcing. Charles has written and litigated software development agreements for developers and customers, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. He has wide experience protecting clients’ business, personal and financial privacy, and in developing and protecting trade secrets and confidential and proprietary information in and out of the courtroom.
With their specialized knowledge in this area, Kate and Charles are able to assist clients in managing the risks associated with their information assets and well as advise on how to maximize the value of those assets in a way that is compliant with the rapidly evolving law.
