Clark Hill’s Ray J. Koenig III to Speak at ACTEC’s 2018 Summer Meeting Stand Alone Program
CHICAGO, IL – Ray J. Koenig III is to speak at the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel’s (ACTEC) 2018 Summer Meeting on June 23, 2018. Ray will be moderating a panel and speaking at a session titled: “(Not Your or) My Generation: Litigation Issues Involving Children” from 10:50 am – 12:05 pm tomorrow. The program describes how clients who engage in planning want to benefit future generations. Members of those future generations are frequently minors and young adults, which always creates unique circumstances, but more so when the governing trust or estate is embroiled in litigation.
Ray’s co-panelists, attorneys Shane Kelly (Fort Lauderdale, FL) and Robert Sacks (Los Angeles, CA), will discuss these situations, with topics including virtual representation, the role of trust protectors, proving heirship through DNA testing, the role of guardians ad litem, representing young adults, emancipation of minors and dealing with parents who live off of their minor children.
Ray is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and previously served as a member of its Fiduciary Litigation Committee. Ray is a Member in Clark Hill’s Litigation and Personal Legal Services Practice Groups. He also serves as the Managing Member of the Chicago office and on the Firm’s Executive Committee.
