Clark Hill PLC Attorney Kevin A. Fanning to Present at Michigan Defense Trial Counsel Inc. 2012 Winter Meeting, Nov. 2
BIRMINGHAM, MICH. – Clark Hill PLC attorney Kevin A. Fanning will present as a panelist at the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel Inc. (MDTC) 2012 Winter Meeting on Nov. 2. The presentation, “Common Interest and Joint Defense Agreements: Benefits, Pitfalls and Best Practices,” will kick-off the full-day meeting in Novi, Mich. Fanning will draw upon his extensive experience in the successful utilization of joint defense agreements in complex, multi-year matters to highlight the strategic use of joint defense agreements in coordinating document production, deposition costs and expenses, and the use of experts in the joint defense environment.
In addition to Fanning’s panel, the meeting will provide an overview of business courts and important facts commercial litigators need to know regarding bankruptcy. Recipients of the 2012 Respected Advocate Award and Judicial Award will be announced as well.
Fanning is based in Clark Hill’s Birmingham office and a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters, real estate litigation, commercial property workouts and receiverships, and securities litigation. Fanning has authored a number of articles, including “Warranties and the Economic Loss Doctrine,” Michigan Construction Law Manual , and “Res Judicata and Summary Proceedings: The Supreme Court Sets the Record Straight,” Michigan Real Property Review . He is on the board of directors for the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter; and a member of the Commercial Litigation Committee in the State Bar of Michigan Business Law Section.
