Clark Hill Member David Brandon Reappointed to Los Angeles County Bar Association Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee

Member David Brandon has been reappointed to the Los Angeles County Bar Association [LACBA] Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee for the 2019-2020 year. He has been on this committee since 2004 and has served as its Chair and Vice-Chair in the past.

With over 35 years of experience, David has represented clients in both the prosecution and defense of a wide variety of claims, including class actions, landlord liability, commercial property management, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of commercial contracts, securities fraud, professional liability and intellectual property disputes. David has taken an active role in the issues that are important to the members of the legal profession. He was featured on the cover of Los Angeles Lawyer in connection with his article “Burning Issues: The Representation of Insureds Under Burning Limits Policies.” He has spoken to groups of business people, attorneys and law students on topics including the preservation of electronic evidence, ethics, claims prevention and the identification of fraudulent claims. David has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles for approximately 30 years, teaching Appellate Law, Law Practice Management and Professional Liability.

LACBA was founded in 1878 and is one of the largest voluntary metropolitan bar associations in the country, with more than 15,000 members. LACBA serves attorneys, judges, and other legal professionals through 25 sections, committees, networking events, live and on-demand CLE programs, and pro bono opportunities, as well as public service and informational resources. The LACBA Professional Responsibility and Ethics Committee prepares written opinions and responses to questions concerning lawyers' ethical duties and responsibilities and reviews and comments upon proposed State Bar ethics opinions and proposed amendments to ethics rules. The committee also monitors and comments upon legislation and proposals concerning professional responsibility and conduct and proposes amendments to rules of professional responsibility, and sponsors and assists other committees in providing MCLE programs on professional responsibility.
