Robert Tomilson, Member in the Insurance and Reinsurance group in Clark Hill Philadelphia, was recently published in Crain’s Business Chicago. His article, “Property Insurance Not Meant To Cover COVID Business Income Loss,” describes how some legislatures have proposed retroactively mandating coverage under commercial property policies for coronavirus-related small-business income losses. That coverage was not intended in such policies, and the industry unequivocally denies that these policies were intended to cover COVID-19 losses.
