Clark Hill Attorney Ray J. Koenig III Becomes Chair of the Trusts & Estates Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association

Clark Hill Attorney Ray J. Koenig III became the Chair of the Trusts & Estates Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association.
The Trusts & Estates Section is the third largest section of the Illinois State Bar Association and includes over 2,700 practicing attorneys across the state.
Ray believes that he is the first openly gay individual to hold this post and states, “I am honored to accept my role as Chair of this statewide group.
Being the first openly gay individual to do so is quite an accomplishment for the gay community as a whole and a step forward for the legal industry.”
The overall mission of ISBA Trusts and Estates Section is:

to be responsible for activities relating to the education of probate, estate planning and trust law practitioners;

to promote and work for the development, modernization and improvement of legislation relating to the estate planning, probate and trust areas of the law; and

to review relevant matters and issues, and to study and recommend solutions to various problems involving the public, the courts, and attorneys insofar as the areas of concern of the section are involved.
