Clark Hill Attorney Melissa Ventrone to Speak on GDPR at IADC 2019 Midyear Meeting
CHICAGO, IL – Melissa Ventrone, Member in Clark Hill’s Cybersecurity group, will speak at The International Association of Defense Counsel’s (IADC) Midyear Meeting on February 25, 2019. The meeting will offer members thoughtfully curated educational sessions which highlight current topics that are essential to those in the cybersecurity profession. Some topics include pro bono appeals, GDPR and its impact in the EU and in the US, and advice to give clients and law firms in today’s social media climate.
Melissa will co-present on the program, “GDPR: Nine Months Later – The Impact in the EU on Enforcement and Compliance and in the US on Discovery.” The panel will analyze European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements and penalties, compliance initiatives, and the response of insurers to claims relating to alleged GDPR violations, among other topics, such as how companies inside and outside the EU must handle personal data.
