June 24, 2019

CHICAGO, IL – Kevin Williams, a Member in Clark Hill’s International Trade group, was recently published in the esteemed Association of Corporate Counsel’s Docket magazine. “The New NAFTA and Its Business Implications,” co-authored by Daniel Roberts of MAHLE Industries, Inc., defines the history of the North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA), from its implementation in 1982, to its current state of success.  The article also explains the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and what implications it will have on businesses, should the legislation pass.

“While many of the details of the USMCA remain uncertain until the implementing legislation is presented to Congress, it appears that with the exception of the automotive industry, most businesses, in our opinion, will not be greatly impacted by the new agreement.”
