Clark Hill Attorney Fred Hoffman Named Winner of Shining Light Award
DETROIT, MI – Clark Hill Attorney Fred Hoffman has been named the winner of the Eleanor Josaitis Unsung Hero Award, one of the Shining Light Regional Cooperation Awards. For two decades, Hoffman worked at Chrysler while advising the company on relationships with governments, especially in metro Detroit – but through 2009-10, he also helped Governor Granholm find common ground with auto companies during a time when it seemed like the industry might collapse. Hoffman has also been a deputy mayor in Dearborn, a newspaper columnist, a city official promoting strong local businesses and, most recently, an attorney with the Clark Hill law firm – not to mention a playing a key role in several boards and committees, like the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and Michigan Manufacturers Association.
The Shining Light Awards, sponsored by the Detroit Free Press and the Metropolitan Affairs Coalition, recognize people who have a regional impact and make important contributions to metro Detroit. They are: the Neal Shine Award for Exemplary Regional Leadership, named for the late Free Press publisher; the Eleanor Josaitis Unsung Hero Award, named for the late cofounder of Focus:HOPE; and the Dave Bing Future Leader Award.
