Vincent C. Sallan is an Associate in Clark Hill's Labor & Employment group based in the firm's Detroit office. Vince focuses his practice on employment counseling and litigation, and commercial litigation. He regularly advises and counsels employers on an array of pre-litigation employment issues, including drafting and revising handbooks and policies in addition to employment and non-compete agreements, consulting on terminations and separations, conducting internal investigations, and ensuring employers are in compliance with state and Federal employment statutes. Vince also defends employers against False Claims Act, discrimination, wrongful discharge, retaliation, harassment, whistleblowing, family/medical leave, disability, and wage-and-hour claims before state and Federal courts, arbitrators, and administrative agencies.
In addition to employment counseling and litigation, Vince focuses his practice on prosecuting and defending unfair competition, trade-secret, non-compete, and business tort claims, and defending employers against sales commissions disputes. Vince also has significant experience with complex commercial litigation across numerous industries, including healthcare, telecommunications, and real estate, insurance coverage disputes, and drafting and arguing critical motions in limine, which have significantly limited claims and damages on the eve of trial leading to favorable resolutions for his clients.
Coming from a family of small business owners, Vince knows first-hand how disruptive a legal dispute can be to business operations. No matter the case or industry, Vince works closely with his clients to understand their business so he can develop and implement a strategy designed to protect their interests and achieve their business goals.
Prior to joining Clark Hill, Vince gained valuable experience at a nationally recognized boutique litigation firm in metro-Detroit, where he focused his practice on litigating employment, commercial, and insurance coverage disputes.
Vince earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from Wayne State University Law School where he also earned Order of the Coif honors. Vince served as Managing Editor of the Wayne Law Review, received a merit scholarship, and the Charles V. Hammond Memorial Scholarship. Prior to law school, Vince earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan and received the James B. Angell Scholar Award, Michigan Tradition Scholarship, and University Honors.
Vince has been recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers as a rising star in 2018 and 2019 (Commercial Litigation).
