Reginald D. Cloyd


Reginald “Reggie” D. Cloyd III helps clients with all aspects of commercial litigation and class action defense in both state and federal court.

Reggie successfully defends both large and small businesses, and individuals, in matters involving breach of contract, consumer fraud, data privacy, products liability, construction defects, and violations of the Illinois Trade Secrets Act. He frequently represents unsecured and secured creditors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters. Moreover, he has experience litigating in multiple Chapter 11 bankruptcy adversary proceedings. He helps clients with all aspects of the litigation process including initial case evaluation, discovery, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation. He has first chaired multiple bench trials in state court.

Reggie excels at negotiating settlements and is often regarded as collaborative and even-tempered by colleagues as well as his opposing counsel. Praised for his skill in the courtroom and at the mediation table, he pursues both creative and practical solutions to meet the needs of his clients.
